Teacher Attempts to Mark His Name in Malaysia Book of Records

  • 30 Jul 2019

Surenrvo S/O  Anantharavoo Babu is a dedicated teacher, who is attached to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (T) Mahathma Gandhi Kalasalai at Sungai Siput, Perak for the past three years.

The young academician is passionate about his career as a Tamil Language teacher and enjoys spreading his knowledge to his students. But besides teaching, Suren has always dreamed of achieving greater heights in his field.

To achieve his dream, Suren is now attempting to mark his name in the 'Malaysia Book of Records' by conducting Tamil language classes non-stop for 12 hours.

Suren would be making this attempt on 21st August from 8 am until 8 pm - where he will be teaching a total of 300 students who hail from standard 1 to 6.

"I sent a proposal to the Malaysia Book of Record's committee, who guided me and advised me further. Following their advice, I increased the number of students to 300," said Suren.

The teacher has handpicked 50 students from each standard, and have gotten parents' permission to allow their children to be a part of this record-breaking moment. The students will also receive a cert for taking part in the event.

"I'm only concerned about the students - some might not turn up for the event, and some would end-up being exhausted for attending the 12-hour event," he revealed.

The Malaysian Book of Records ceremony will be held at 8.30 pm on the same day, once the attempt is successful.

"I just wanted to inspire other teachers; to show them that we can achieve more in this field besides merely educating the students," says Suren.

Let's wish the passionate teacher a stroke of good luck in creating his mark in the Malaysia Book of Records!
