Malaysian Indian Creatives You Need to Check Out

  • 11 Aug 2019

From musicians to artists to actors, these Malaysian Indian creatives have made headlines in recent years for their amazing work.

Highly talented and impeccably imaginative, these individuals are also renowned for their discipline and passion in their craft.

Let's check them out.

Rathimalar Govindarajoo

Specialising in Indian classical dance forms such as Odissi, Bharatanatyam and other contemporary dance forms, Rathimalar was Ramli Ibrahim's choice of lead dancer. To date, the dance educationist has performed in The Philippines, France, Italy, Japan, Indonesia, India, USA and Australia in both classical and contemporary dances.

Ruby Subramaniam

Uthaya Sankar SB

Jo Kukathas

You've probably heard of her. Jo Kukathas is famous for portraying YBee, a hilarious parody on Malaysian politicians. While many would not see her on the big screen, she is well celebrated in the Malaysian theatre scene.

K.S. Maniam

This Malaysian novelist is also an academic. Due to his preference for a low profiled life, the writer was thought to have left the country. To date, Maniam who has been writing since he was a teenager has written three novels and several short stories.

Malachi Edwin Vethamani
