The recent alleged killings of 63-year-old father Jeyaraj and 31-year- old son Fenix in police custody near Santhakulam has triggered widespread criticism and calls for justice against the police officers involved. 

However, netizens are sharing videos, and news about the incident in Tamil that limits the reach of the tragic event. In her effort to spread the news beyond Tamil Nadu, singer Suchitra has posted a video in English explaining the details about the torture and harassment the two men endured in the hands of the police officers who arrested them. 

The video has garnered over 13 million views and is shared across social media. Netizens are applauding Suchitra's bold video. Watch it here:

Jeyaraj and Fenix were arrested for allegedly keeping their store open after the permitted hours during the lockdown. They were kept in custody overnight and subjected to physical and sexual torture. Netizens and traders in South India are in a protest demanding severe punishment for the police officers.
